Bi-Weekly: Next Pay = Last Pay + 14 days | Semi-Monthly: 1st and 15th (or 15th and last day)
Example
Last paid March 14, 2025 (bi-weekly) → Next: March 28, 2025 → Then: April 11, April 25, May 9, May 23.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Bi-weekly means paid every 14 days, resulting in 26 pay periods per year (sometimes 27). Semi-monthly means paid twice per month on fixed dates (e.g., 1st and 15th), always 24 pay periods per year.
- Most employers pay on the Friday before the weekend, or the business day before a bank holiday. Some pay on the next business day. The Holiday Adjustment tab shows the banking-day-adjusted date.
- Direct deposit typically arrives 1–2 business days before your official payday, as banks process ACH transfers in advance. The Professional tab shows an estimated direct deposit date of 1 day early.
- Weekly = 52, Bi-Weekly = 26 (sometimes 27 in a long year), Semi-Monthly = 24, Monthly = 12. Bi-weekly occasionally has 27 periods depending on when the year starts.
