- Use Net New MRR tab to break down new, expansion, churn, and contraction MRR.
- Use MRR Growth Rate to compare this month vs last month.
- Switch to Professional for plan-level MRR breakdown and year-end projections.
Formula
MRR = Customers × ARPU
Net New MRR = New + Expansion − Churn − Contraction
ARR = MRR × 12
Example

Frequently Asked Questions
- Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) is the predictable monthly revenue from active subscriptions. Basic formula: MRR = Number of Customers × ARPU (Average Revenue Per User per month).
- Net New MRR = New MRR + Expansion MRR − Churned MRR − Contraction MRR. It shows how much your recurring revenue grew (or shrank) in a month.
- ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) = MRR × 12. ARR is used for annual financial planning and investor reporting; MRR is used for monthly operational tracking.
- Expansion MRR is additional revenue from existing customers — upgrades, add-ons, and seat expansions. Healthy SaaS companies have expansion MRR that partially or fully offsets churn.
- Early-stage startups often target 10–20% monthly MRR growth. At $1M ARR, 5–10% monthly is strong. At $10M+ ARR, 3–5% monthly (50–100%+ annually) is considered excellent.
